The United States offers numerous benefits for living and working, including a robust economy with diverse job opportunities across industries, and considerably lower levels of taxation than other parts of the world. It boasts high-quality education and healthcare systems, and a varied climate and landscapes offering abundant recreational activities. Additionally, the infrastructure supports one oof the highest high standards of living and qualities of life in the world, with advanced technology and transportation networks. Opportunities for personal and professional growth are plentiful, making the United States an attractive destination for individuals seeking a dynamic and fulfilling lifestyle.

For business owners looking to move and grow their business to the United States, some of the more straightforward options include the L and E visas.

L visas permit an international intra-company transfer, whereby key individuals from a non-US business move to the United States to grow that business in the United States. This can include the founder/owner and can be wide-ranging in terms of what the actual business is. Different subcategories of L visa accommodate individuals who are in executive or managerial roles, and/or those who have specialized knowledge within the company.

E visas are Treaty visas, and permit foreign nationals from countries with trade treaties with the United States (which includes most of the Western world) to develop business in the United States. The E-1 is for businesses that actively trade between the United States and their country of nationality. The E-2 allows individuals to invest in a business in the United States that does or will create employment opportunities for Americans.

Approvals last up to five years for E visas, and seven years for L visas, and are renewable. Other opportunities exist within those times to obtain permanent residency (green cards).

In both cases, families can come with the principal visa holder, spouses can often work without any employment limitations, kids can attend public schools, the family can obtain healthcare and the like. In short, they provide an opportunity for a family to start a new life in business in the United States, with all it has to offer.
